"Népszabadság online wrongly reported on Monday evening that former prime minister Gyula Horn had died. The report was posted on the nol.hu site for less than a minute. The website then apologised to its readers and to Horn, Népszabadság reports. An internal inquiry has begun.Deputy editors Ervin Tamás and Csaba Nagy offered to resign on Tuesday, Magyar Hírlap writes. A former senior Népszabadság staff member said there is little chance that the owners will accept the resignations.
The 75-year-old Horn reportedly suffers from insomnia and has contracted acute pneumonia during his medical treatment. Andor Grósz, deputy director of the State medical centre, told Magyar Hírlap that, contrary to rumours, Horn’s condition remains unchanged, but further medical treatment is necessary."
