“We Are Not Going To Go Away" - "The verbal give and take between the senior officials, spokespersons and so forth of Hungarian fuels group MOL and its Austrian sector peer OMV, which wants to “combine" the two companies, just does not seem to end.The newest chapter in this endless story is a letter by OMV spokesman Thomas Huemer, who made it very clear his company would not just simply up and vanish, however it irks MOL.
“OMV's declaration of intent could not have been clearer - we said that we would start talking to MOL's independent shareholders about the value and terms of our proposed conditional offer, and seek support for the 10% voting limitation and shares under management control to be removed," Huemer said.
“Those discussions have been taking place, are continuing and independent shareholders have been clear in indicating their support for our actions. So we are making encouraging progress."
“We will continue to ensure that independent shareholders are able to consider an offer from OMV and any relevant notifications will be made to the European Commission over the coming weeks to allow them to consider our proposals as well," Huemer added.
“We are not going to go away," he concluded."
