Now Showing In Budapest: 'The Invasion'

Now Showing In Budapest: 'The Invasion'
"A mysterious epidemic alters the behavior of human beings. When a Washington D.C. psychiatrist discovers the epidemic’s origins are extraterrestrial, she must fight to protect her son, who may hold the key to stopping the escalating invasion."

Movie type: Sci-Fi Action Thriller - This is a science fiction thriller based on the famous Invasion of the Body Snatchers, but there is actually fairly little in the way of the expected visual effects--but the end does have the action and explosions would expect from producer Joel Silver. Fans of Nicole Kidman won't be disappointed but co-star Daniel Craig has limited screen time.

Director: Oliver Hirschbiegel

Script: Dave Kajganich

Starring: Nicole Kidman (Carol Bennell), Daniel Craig (Ben Driscoll), Jeremy Northam (Tucker Kaufman)

Length: 1 hr. 33 min.

Reviews:

”Average The Invasion is an erratically assembled mess that fails to satisfy the expectations of any genre's adherents.“ Berardinelli, Internet Critic

”Average ...cast members do what they can with dialogue that can hardly be spoken, and a plot that we concede must be implausible but does not necessarily have to upstage the Mad magazine version.” Roger Ebert

”Average Unfortunately for Invasion, the filmmakers and their body-snatching villains also seem bent on sermonizing about everything from the war in Iraq to the state of the pharmaceutical industry.” USA Today

”Average ...the result is a frantic mess that opens with a scene plucked from the film's third act that smacks of having been moved up to pacify audiences too restless for a slow build.” TV Guide Online
