'Conversations About Contemporary Art', Ludwig Lecture Series
"What is Contemporary Art? A very good question, and it is precisely what this ongoing lecture series in English aims to answer for Xpats at the Ludwig Museum Budapest.


The Friends of the Ludwig Museum offer a unique opportunity to explore and learn all about contemporary art, both international and Hungarian. 

A variety of exciting topics on the art of our time will be presented each week by the city’s foremost authorities in the field, followed by an exhibition walk to look at artworks in the museum that illustrates the week’s theme. 

The series is developed in conjunction with the LUMÚ Docent programme.

- March 12th Abstract Expressionism - Jackson Pollock / Wilhelm de Kooning
- March 19th Pop Arts’ American Icons - Andy Warhol / Roy Lichtenstein
- April 2nd Photorealist’ Richard Estes / Chuck Close / Malcolm Morley

Time: Wednesdays from 10 am to 12 noon 

Place: Ludwig Museum in Palace of Arts, 1095 Budapest, Komor Marcell u.1
