 "2008 also sees the celebration of Vitéz János, who was born 600 years ago. Vitéz János was the uncle of Janus Pannonius, bishop of Várad and archbishop of Esztergom. He was King Matthias's Chancellor who worked with the King until 1471.His courts in Várad and Esztergom were in many ways the archetypes of the royal courts. Almost 100 original artefacts (the books of Vitéz János and Janus Pannonius, the items that became codices, the engravings, statues and paintings) are included in the exhibition which gives a picture about the beginnings of humanism in Hungary ."
