"Fidesz chairman Viktor Orbán told HírTV on Friday evening that crimes have been committed over the past five to six years, which the governing side has made great efforts to conceal, and Fidesz has a long list of cases of corruption or abuse in investment projects. He argued that the Socialists desperately want to win the 2010 elections, as they need their right to immunity. Orbán alleged that the Socialist government insists on keeping its privileges and power on the basis of “whatever will be will be”, and does not care about the future of the nation.
Orbán told the right-leaning television station that in 2002 the Socialist government, headed by public funds state secretary László Keller, launched reprisals against all those with connections to the Orbán cabinet in more than 130 cases, all of which collapsed. Once Fidesz is in power, it will hold accountable all those suspected of corruption, but fairly, lawfully and publicly, he added.
In other remarks Orbán asserted that he speaks at local forums in the knowledge that he is probably being bugged by the secret services. Orbán said he would like a sound recording of the appearance he made at the University of Motion Picture Art on April 30 to be posted on the internet, if one was made."
