EU "For Diversity Against Discrimanation" Truck Stop In Szeged

EU
"The EU Truck Tour 2008 made a special stop at the Szeged Youth Days, spreading the campaign’s anti-discrimination message through a series of fun, interactive events taking place on and around the Truck.

The events brought together employee and employer groups, NGO representatives, musicians, artists and people of all ages. Visitors were able to find out more about the campaign, ways to get involved and enjoy first-hand access to the latest news and information about EU and national legislation on subjects such as equal opportunities and combating discrimination in the workplace.

Fighting Discrimination, Respecting Differences

The “For Diversity. Against Discrimination.” Truck Tour 2008 aims to reinforce the message that discrimination on the grounds of religion or belief, disability, age, sexual orientation, race or ethnic origin is against the law. The European Commission remains committed to combating all forms of

discrimination and promoting a Europe where individuality and differences are fully respected. The Truck Tour is part of a wider range of measures initiated by the Directorate General for Employment, Social Affairs and Equal Opportunities to help achieve these aims.
