"Hungary's consumer prices rose 0.2% month on month and 5.1% year on year in October 2008, undershooting the 5.2-5.3% yr/yr consensus in a Portfolio.hu poll.For the end of the year the analysts now project CPI to be at 4.9%, down from 5.3% in the previous monthly poll.
CPI in January-October came in at 6.5%, down from 6.7% in Jan-Sep.
Seasonally adjusted core inflation decelerated to 4.6% yr/yr from 5.0% in Sep, the Central Statistics Office (KSH) has reported on Tuesday. In monthly terms, core CPI has risen 0.2% which compares with no change in the previous month."
