Now Showing In Budapest: 'Max Payne'

Now Showing In Budapest: 'Max Payne'
"Max Payne is a maverick cop - a mythic anti-hero - determined to track down those responsible for the brutal murders of his family and partner. Hell-bent on revenge, his obsessive investigation takes him on a nightmare journey into a dark underworld. As the mystery deepens, Max is forced to battle enemies beyond the natural world and face an unthinkable betrayal."

Movie type: Action Adventure - Although it is based on a action-heavy video game, this effects-heavy film is very slow and oddly action-light. The young male action crowd is the target audience though they may not be so pleased. Although PG-13, there is a bit of violent content and some images may be too intense and disturbing for young children.

Director: John Moore

Script: Beau Thorne, Shawn Ryan

Starring:Mark Wahlberg (Max Payne), Mila Kunis (Mona Sax)

Length:1 hr. 39 min.

Review:

Sun Online: “It would be far too easy to say that max pain sums up Mark Wahlberg's latest lead role.”

Nigel Andrews: “Mark Wahlberg glooms about the land in the latest computer-game makeover, a noir action thriller of such scowling, benighted violence that it could send manic depressives over the edge and make newcomers to that condition of us all.”

Peter Bradshow: “The film combines ferocious self-importance with lashings of really nasty, unreflective violence.”
