An Irish job agency claims that there are some 500,000 jobs in Britain for East Europeans to fill. Amidst lingering fears across the EU-15 of an influx of job-seekers from the new Member States, an Irish employment agency went on record on 12 May announcing that "there are some 550,000 job vacancies in Britain alone". These jobs are up for grabs for citizens of the EU-10 countries, the agency said.
