What is Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR)? |
Its meaning is simple: it is about companies having a mission, vision and values that take account not only of the climate in the workplace, but also of involvement in the community, local economic development, marketplace and environmental impact as an integral part of their business strategy. It is an area in which Great Britain has a great deal of experience.British investors have been bringing the concepts to their Hungarian operations. For these firms, business is not just about delivering goods and services but also about helping society at large meet environmental, social and cultural objectives.
The British Embassy, strongly supported by the British Chamber of Commerce in Hungary (BCCH) and the Hungarian Business Leaders Forum (HBLF), has published a Report listing some of the CSR activity undertaken by the major UK investors in Hungary. The Report shows British firms' commitment to Hungary and their valuable contribution to the wider community.
