World Bank unconcerned about drug price freeze

The Hungarian government's move cutting pharmaceutical prices by 15% was not unusual, since this type of measure is implemented by governments around the EU in this sector, World Bank experts Dr. Armin Fidler and Dr Thomas Palu said in Budapest yesterday.

Fidler says that he does not believe that foreign pharmaceutical companies will pull out of Hungary because of the recently instituted price control measures, adding that pharmaceutical companies he has spoken with are satisfied with their experiences here. (Econews; NG 3)
