The yr/yr growth rate of Central Europe’s IT and telecom market will be over 8% in 2004, twice the anticipated pace of growth in Western Europe, the European Information Technology Observatory (EITO) estimated. The organization named Hungary as one of the countries in the vanguard of the boom with a projected 2004 sales total of Euro 6.4 billion; this is higher than the figure quoted for Ireland, a classic example of a country strong on high-tech industries.
