The new Ft 6.2 billion building complex constructed to house Budapest's city archives will be officially opened in mid-November, Budapest mayor Gábor Demszky said. Construction of the 23,500-sqm building complex, which will comprise three blocks, has been financed from the Budapest City budget, including Ft 2 billion from this year's budget. Budapest's archives are currently stored in scattered locations. The new facility will have 53 kilometers of shelf space, and store documents from 24 district councils. (Econews; Nb 7)
