Motor racing-Team by team summary of Monaco Grand Prix

Team by team summary of Sunday's Monaco Grand Prix (teams listed in 2003 championship order):

FERRARI (Rubens Barrichello 3, Michael Schumacher retired)

World champion Schumacher's run of success ended after five wins in a row, crashing in the tunnel after a collision with Williams' Juan Pablo Montoya. Barrichello marked his 32nd birthday on the podium.

-

WILLIAMS (Juan Pablo Montoya 4, Ralf Schumacher retired)

Fourth was the most Montoya could have hoped for after starting ninth and running into Schumacher. Ralf lost a series of gears and stopped with a few laps remaining.

-

MCLAREN (David Coulthard and Kimi Raikkonen retired)

Coulthard was hit by Fisichella, Raikkonen was withdrawn after an engine problem was diagnosed. McLaren slumped to sixth place with just five points, overtaken by Sauber.

-

RENAULT (Jarno Trulli 1, Fernando Alonso retired)

Trulli's first win, could have been a one-two but Alonso crashed in the tunnel while lapping Ralf. Renault consolidated their second place overall.

-

BAR (Jenson Button 2, Takuma Sato retired)

Button's fourth podium in six races left him third in the championship. Sato'e engine went on lap three, causing a pile-up as drivers were blinded by the smoke.

-

SAUBER (Felipe Massa 5, Giancarlo Fisichella retired)

Fisichella flew over Coulthard's McLaren and into the barriers after Sato's engine went. Massa's points lifted Sauber to fifth place.

-

JAGUAR (Mark Webber and Christian Klien retired)

Klien crashed into the barriers at Mirabeau, losing a $200,000 diamond embedded in the car's nose in the process. Webber suffered a loss of drive on lap 11.

-

TOYOTA (Cristiano da Matta 6, Olivier Panis 8)

Toyota's first points of the season and far more than they had expected. Da Matta picked up a drive-through penalty in a blue flag controversy. Without it, he might have finished higher.

- JORDAN (Nick Heidfeld 7, Giorgio Pantano retired)

Jordan's first points of the season. Pantano's car locked in fourth gear and he retired on lap 14.

-

MINARDI (Zsolt Baumgartner 9, Gianmaria Bruni retired)

Bruni retired on lap 17 with a gearbox problem. Baumgartner lost a lot of time with a similar difficulty after the first corner but got going again after resetting the system with the steering wheel buttons. His was the last car running.
