Construction of a new 12-kilometre section of the M0 ring road around Budapest began yesterday. PM Péter Medgyessy laid the foundation stone. The contractor Strabag Rt. plans to complete the four-lane stretch by late 2005 at a cost of Ft 34.5 billion, said Zoltán Bodnár, director of National Motorway Rt. Medgyessy said the M0, when completed in 2007, would connect Hungarian motorways and dual-carriageways together to form a true network. (MTI; Nv 1, NG 3, Nb 16)
