Hungarian Gov’t Orders Ózd Water Supply Restored
- 8 Aug 2013 9:00 AM
The town council restricted the water supply last Friday, but Fürjes said the situation has changed because of the extreme heat.
Many homes in the Borsod county town, most of them occupied by Roma, do not have running water, as they are not hooked up to the water supply system, while many others cannot afford to pay water bills.
International media have published reports of Roma standing in queues for hours in the 38C heat to get water from pumps, after the water pressure was greatly reduced.
