'Arrivederci Botticelli', Museum Of Fine Arts, 17 May |
"On Saturday the Museum of Fine Arts will celebrate International Museum Day until midnight and at the same time bid farewell to the large scale exhibition, entitled “The Splendour of the Medici – Life and Art in Renaissance Florence”, which is due to close the next day.The closing date of the exhibition is special because of another reason. It was almost 500 years ago to the day, on 17th May 1510, that the most prominent representative of the Florentine School, the painter Sandro Botticelli, passed away.
In the cultural-historical cavalcade of music and dance commencing at six in the evening we will conjure up the joy of life of the European Renaissance, the Medici Florentine court, and Italian flavours. Visitors will also have the chance to acquaint themselves with a “rebirth” of folk culture from exotic corners of the globe. Magic and sorcery... Find the secret of rebirth! – a detective game during the night for everyone
There will be an English guided tour in the Permanent Collection from 6 p.m. - 9 p.m.
Trattoria di Firenze *flavours from Italian cuisine made in the culinary workshop of chef Péter Buday"
