"To compensate for the shortfall of revenues following the March 9 referendum in which doctor visiting fees and hospital fees were cancelled, the cabinet is ready to allocate Ft 10 billion to GPs, paediatricians and dentists.Prime Minister Ferenc Gyurcsány has given government commissioner Tamás Székely the green light to sign a draft to that effect with medical professional organisations representatives.
Chamber of Hungarian Physicians president István Éger said talks will continue next week before a decision on a future agreement is made. According to the plan GPs, paediatricians and dentists will receive extra funding in June, September and next January."
