"Sándor Veress (1907–1992), one of the finest composers in the post-Bartók generation, has never received the recognition he is due in Hungary. His works are rarely performed in concert programmes despite them being performed all over the world by Hungarian artists. We believe it is very important to commemorate him in suitable style on the one hundredth anniversary of his death and more importantly, for Budapest audiences to acquaint themselves with his works.
We are honoured that the composer’s former student and the greatest interpreter and performer of his works, Heinz Holliger will be one of the principal performers at the November 26th concert.
The concert on the 27th also features Sándor Veress’s son, Claudio Veress."
