"A bronze plaque was unveiled in Budapest's old luxury New York Palace to mark the Europa Nostra Heritage medal the historic building received this year for its renovation.Addressing the ceremony executive president of the pan-European heritage conservation NGO, Europa Nostra, Andreas H. Schuler praised the work of the Hungarian architects and those who executed the renovation.
The renovation of the Palace, which accommodates a historic ornate marble coffee house that once provided a virtual home for many of Budapest's most celebrated poets, was completed last May. The palace was originally built in an eclectic style relying on the Italian renaissance in 1892-1894.
The palace, a landmark building in downtown Budapest, has been reconstructed by the Italian Boscolo group."
