"Flextronics Ltd., one of the world's largest contract manufacturers, plans to bring additional production to Hungary in May and expand its payroll by several hundred people, business daily Napi Gazdaság reported on Tuesday. The company also wants to further develop its service base in Zalaegerszeg, which is one of the largest regional service centre in Central and Eastern Europe.“Flextronics Ltd. Will launch a new, large-volume production programme in Hungary already this year," said Péter Papp, HR director of Flextronics International Kft. However, he declined to give information on either the specific products to be manufactured at the plant or the companies ordering them. He noted that production is to start in May in Zalaegerszeg and Sárvár.
The Hungarian subsidiary is also to boost staff by about 10%. Flextronics currently employs some 10,000 workers at five production bases in Hungary.
The parent company has also decided to start another investment programme in the country to expand the biggest regional services centre in CEE operating in Zalaegerszeg.
In order to do so, the company seeks to employ highly-skilled labour, primarily mechatronic engineers and technical IT specialists."
