"On the occasion of the successful launch of its Mobile Internet service, Pannon gave away portable computers to 25 NGOs including free Internet access up 10 GB, which is practically unlimited for almost all purposes. In the framework of this aid, the staff of the Hungarian Red Cross Zala County Street Care Service can now offer Internet access to the homeless people in their care.People living on the streets often do not trust institutional services and seldom appear for ordinances. Issuing free medical care certifications for the required services of physicians is yet another benefit of giving Internet access for the homeless.
"With the help of Pannon Mobile Internet, the Web can become available for anyone in the country, even for those who don’t have a wired infrastructure" - said Dr. Emese Majorosi, Pannon's Press and Information Director.
Through Pannon Mobile Internet anything can be arranged. Checking timetables and office opening hours is as easy as looking for jobs or information on different trainings, and even the preparation of tax declaration and enquiring on the social insurance status.
"Now we can solve problems with our laptops on the streets. So far, this could be solved only from our offices which was much slower and with significant extra costs. We plan to purchase a portable printer as well that would make our services on the street complete" - said Ádám T. Kardos, Social Street Coordinator of the Hungarian Red Cross Zala County Street Care Service."
