"While against the euro it was virtually motionless, Hungary's forint firmed to a new 10-year record versus the dollar in morning trade on Thursday, which is attributed to the USD's latest wave of weakening. Yields have remained largely unchanged at benchmark papers on the local fixed-income market.
The HUF is hovering around 246.50 to the euro, while it ventured below 179 to the USD, which - according to daily exchange rate data of the central bank (NBH) - has not happened since April 1997.
