"From the start of this month expats and local alike can ice skate again at Városliget Ice Rink over the winter season. Professional ice skaters in Hungary will have 36 games in the regular season which started on September 2nd with the playoffs in March 2008."Alba Volan/Szekesfehervar, last years champion team, will use their best players in the Erste Bank Liga and their talented younger players will play in the regular season. Their pro team will participate only the playoff in March, when Austrian league will be finished. Alba Volan head coach is Jan Jasko/SVK and their rosters have 12 Hungarian national team players plus Slovak and Canadian players.
Dunaujvaros Steel Bulls team will have a very talented young team – full with U20 National Team players. They have some experienced older player and a Slovak goalie.
Their coach is Vlado Matejov/SVK.
Sportclub Miercurea-Ciuc (last season bronze medal team) from Transylvania, Romania, who won the Romanian League last year. Head coach Sandor Gal/ROM can count with 8 Slovak players in their team.
UTE/Budapest released their Hungarian national team players (Ladányi, Horváth and Peterdi), they transfered several Slovak and Czech players. Their new coach Jindrich Novotny/CZE will have the highest number of the import players in the league 15 players (including 2 goalies).
Miskolc Polar Bears starts with almost the same team like last season. Head coach Jan Faith/SVK team is on base of the local players with using 5 Slovak players from Kosice.
Ferencvaros/Budapest team set up a team together with HK Nove Zamky/SVK. Head coach Laszlo Pindak/HUN will have two national team players (Attila Hoffmann and Csaba Jánosi) and minimum 5 Slovak players for each game plus Schellin from Sweden. They moved to Pesterzsebet Ice Hall for their home games.
HC Csikszereda new team from Miercurea-Ciuc/Transylvania/Romania. Head coach Lubomir Rohacik/SVK will have mostly local players and import players from Latvia, Slovakia and Canada.
Some games will be officiated by female referee Katalin Gernyi."
