"Panic prevails among the Free Democrat MPs who supported János Kóka during last year’s party election campaign, as they do not see a way out of the current election scandal, according to today’s Magyar Hírlap. These supporters are aware that their power will slip within both the party and the coalition with Kóka as party chairman, the daily adds. An unnamed “prominent politician” said nobody is behind Kóka anymore; statements of unity are only made due to the imminent referendum. For now a semblance of unity must be shown, the politician added.
Kóka meanwhile told Magyar Hírlap on Monday that he is ready to run for the post of party chairman if the occurrence of fraud at last year’s convention is proved, and denied that he does not want to give up his seat on the executive committee."
