March 15th National Holiday In Hungary
"March 15th is our national holiday when we commemorate Revolution and the following War of Independence against the Austrian-Habsburg rule in 1848-49.

This day is one of the most prominent National Holidays in Hungary when people wear tricolor cockades pinned to their clothes and the city is decorated with flags everywhere. We also prepare for this special day with making flags and cockades. László Gulyás, a musical vagabond evokes the spirit of the revolution while Ági Szalóki sings our folk songs and the poems of our famous poets.

10.00–11.00 Baby Steps – folk games, songs and rhymes- let’s go to Fairyland together
Apró Színház – Vera Tarján

10.00–16.00 Baba Bú-Jó – Playroom for tots
Everybody was born with the ability to play, which should be used in all of our life. This valuable ability can be kept and enhanced, so come with us and practice it! In our playhouse children and parents can share the joy of playing together, they can learn new games which they can take home with themselves.

10.00–16.00 Csiribiri handicrafts workshop
Textile painting, flag and cockade making

11.00–12.00 „war of independence”
How it happened- history made real by games, riddles, songs and dances presented by Aliz Környei and László Gulyás.

12.00–13.00 Apró Színház: Stepmothers
Adapted from Grimm’s tale, Cinderella

Popelka’s mother dies, her stepmother and step sister do everything to get her out of his father’s house. But Popelka’s rich fantasy helps her to win over the wicked woman.

Divorcing, new family, patchwork family, stepmothers, step fathers, step sisters- these are- unfortunately all well known phenomena. It is important to talk about them, to act them out in order to work out the problems instead of burying them. It can give us hope that children will not follow the bad example and they can keep their believe in the power of family.

16.00–17.00 Ági Szalóki: Gingalló
Poems and folk song interpretation. Children can join in singing and moving. "
