Mobile Subscriptions Rise To 10.45 m In September
"The number of mobile phone subscriptions in Hungary rose by 112,000 to 10.45 million in September, the National Communications Authority (NCA) reported on Wednesday.


The number of subscriptions per 100 people was 104.4 in the ninth month of the year. 

In terms of mobile subscriptions (based on the number of SIM cards capable of receiving calls on the last day of the month) the market share of Pannon slipped to 34.85% from 34.86. The market share of T-Mobile dropped to 44.08% from 44.09%, while that of Vodafone edged up to 21.07% from 21.05%.

The number of subscriptions actually generating traffic (call, SMS or other data traffic) in the past three months rose by 79,000 to 9.65 million.

In terms of subscriptions actually generating traffic Pannon's market share was 33.35% at the end of September, down from 33.56% a month earlier, while the market share of T-Mobile rose to 45.04% from 44.90% and that of Vodafone went up to 21.61% from 21.54%.

The NCA also published number portability figures for the mobile segment. There were 4,855 numbers carried in September. Since this service was made available in May 2004, a total of 180,268 numbers were carried in the mobile segment."
