"Hungary's Prime Minister Ferenc Gyurcsány has nominated Csaba Molnár (33), Secretary of State at the Ministry for National Development and Economy, for the position of Minister of Transport.Csaba Molnár was born on 4 December in 1975. He obtained his degree in law at the Eötvös Lóránd University. He also enrolled in the European Union Course at the Friedrich Ebert Foundation.
His political career took off in 2006 when was appointed President of the Socialist Party's (MSZP) Győr-Moson-Sopron County constituency, becoming the youngest ever county chief within the MSZP. The position was held by Gyurcsány before.
Molnár's predecessor Pál Szabó resigned after a train accident on 6 October that claimed four lives.
Previously Molnár was breifly the PM's Commissioner to the New Ownership Programme (February-May 2008). He was elected President of the West Pannon Regional Development Council in November 2006. Between 30 May 2006 and 20 May 2008 Molnár was member of the Committee for European Affairs in Parliament. He gained his mandate on the territorial list of Győr-Moson-Sopron County in the 2006 elections."
