"In the 16-17th century the kitchen was situated beside the Southwest corner pillar of the castle. Its fireplace was a closed stove standing between the Southern castle wall and the two pillars. This was used in the time of the Windishgraetz family and - up to 1959 - as a kitchen for the Work Institute. Its rebuilding took place between 1994 and 1996. At the renovation of the kitchen it was important to reinforce the different parts of the stove.
The exhibition displays contemporary pictures, photographs and writings about kitchens. Comenius' figures and words about the use of pepper and old recepies about the ox baking are also demonstrated. The exhibited items are tools of the 16-17th centuries: tin plates, tin cups, tin dishes, pancake pan, etc. By the side of the oven there are kneading basin, big sieve and baking board are seen.
The importance of the kitchen is that apart from this there are only two other kitchens remained from this time (Léka and Fraknó). The kitchen also operates as the scene of renaissance dinners and similar occasions."
