Sweden To Invest Billions In Hungary

Property developer Skanska is investing €300 million (about $442 million) within 5 years. Swedwood is expanding its Sopron factory creating 200 jobs. Compressor and mining machinery manufacturer Atlas Copco is relocating its assembly plant to Hungary giving jobs to 80 people. 

IKEA plans to open two new stores, the commissioner reported. The service sector can expect further Swedish investments and Swedish companies are eyeing the wood and paper industry, pharmaceutical, automotive and telecommunications sectors, too, the commissioner added. 

According to a joint survey of the Swedish embassy in Budapest and the commercial commission, Swedish companies continue to pursue production and development projects in Hungary."
