'The Creative Art Trio', Nyitott Műhely, 7 December

'The Creative Art Trio', Nyitott Műhely, 7 December
"Back from their successful concert in Shanghai, THE CREATIVE ART TRIO is led by the spellbinding virtuoso pianist, György Vukán.

A few years back one of his London gigs was MC-d by ex-Genesis guitar ace, Steve Hackett who said the following: "In an extremely competitive and strong field like Hungary, it's almost impossible to call anyone from the top echelon an 'outstanding' pianist, yet Gyorgy Vukan is just that." Nuff said! Vukan will be backed by the great bassist with whom he has played for decades and who is the teacher of most of the new generation on his instrument, BALAZS BERKES.

The trio is completed by arguably the best drummer in Hungary, ELEMER BALAZS who also leads his own extremely successful group. Three years ago the Creative Art Trio's gave a fantastic concert at the Bloomsbury Theatre in London where it was joined on stage by Gerard Presencer, one of the world's best trumpeters.

NYITOTT MUHELY is in the XIIth DISTRICT on the BUDA side of town at RATH GYORGY UTCA 4

The entrance is directly from the street.

(Rath Gyorgy utca is off Alkotas utca, more or less opposite Deli palyaudvar - the Southern Rail Terminal)

ENTRY FEE is 1200 FORINTS - All proceeds from that go to the musicians. The bar-cum-buffet serves the best selection of teas in town, also decent wines, beer and delicious but high-cholesterol home-made Hungarian sandwiches at very reasonable prices.

THE OPEN WORKSHOP ATTRACTS A HIGHLY CIVILISED CROWD WITH A GREATER SPRINKLING OF ENGLISH-SPEAKERS THAN USUAL AND, IF YOU'RESTUCK FOR BABY-SITTERS, IT'S SAFE TO BRING YOUR CHILDREN PROVIDED THEY LEAVE THE SCREAMING TO THE PERFORMERS.

All are welcome by the Harmonia Jazz Workshop (Csaba Deseo, George Kerekes,Peter Pallai) and the Open Workshop (Laszlo Finta & His Wonderful Volunteers)"
