Two New Independent International Certifications For VirsBuster's Products

Two New Independent International Certifications For VirsBuster's Products
"VirusBuster Professional successfully passed the "Desktop/Server AV Cleaning" test at ICSA Labs, VirusBuster for Samba Servers running on Ubuntu Linux Server platform received Virus Bulletin's prestigious "VB100" certificate.

Earlier, VirusBuster Professional was awarded the "Desktop/Server AV Detection" certificate in three consecutive years by ICSA Labs (www.icsalabs.com), the internationally renowned independent IT security certification facility. In 2007 the software passed an even more difficult test: the industry standard "Desktop/Server AV Cleaning" – this certification was successfully renewed in 2008.

The "Desktop/Server AV Detection" (Version 4) certificate is awarded to products which are able to detect all viruses in the test without false positives, and contain the administrative and reporting functions needed for efficient and easy operation. The higher level "Desktop/Server AV Cleaning" certification requires the ability to remove in-the-wild (ITW) viruses from infected files and sectors when possible, without adversely affecting the data or functionality that existed before the infection.

Shortly after receiving the ICSLA Labs certificate, VirusBuster was notified of another success. The company's VirusBuster for Samba Servers software fared well in a test of antivirus products designed for Ubuntu Linux 8.04LTS Server Edition. The test was performed by the experts of Virus Bulletin (www.virusbtn.com), an independent medium of the computer security industry with worldwide reputation. The severity of this test is indicated by the fact that 7 from the 15 examined products couldn't comply with its criteria.

Only products which detect all in-the-wild viruses, but do not generate any false positives when scanning clean files are awarded by the "Virus Bulletin 100%" ("VB100") logo.

As Szilárd Stange, VirusBuster's head of development said "The newest ICSA and VB100 certificates indicate an independent, international recognition of our virus detection and removal technologies' efficiency".
