"United Way Hungary will hold its Fourth Annual Social Responsibility Dinner on April 8th, 2008 at 7.00 p.m. The fundraising activities for the „Cause of the Year” will be launched at this Gala dinner. The 2008 Cause of the Year is to improve the quality of life of children injured in accidents and to support programs, which aid their treatment and rehabilitation.
One of the main goals of United Way Hungary is to promote individual and corporate social responsibility in order to raise money for the hospitals that treat children injured in accidents. They can then use this money for purchasing hospital equipment and other essentials to treat the children.
Secondly, United Way is committed to support the work of non-profit organizations that provide care for the children either through hospital treatment or through home care. As a first step in this mission, the money raised at the CSR Gala dinner will enable the purchase of special titanium implants and other medical equipment for the children treated at the traumatology section of the Peterfy Sandor Utcai Hospital. The hospital cares for 700 children each year.
„We would like to encourage corporate leaders and private donors to take part in the CSR Gala Dinner. Our mission is to promote the positive benefits of donating regularly and being socially responsible both in the corporate world and individually. The Gala dinner allows corporate leaders and other professionals to share experiences and to network” said László Czirják, President of United Way Hungary. „It is a special honor that Mrs. Erzsébet Sólyom, Mrs. Árpád Göncz és Mrs. Dalma Mádl will patronize the event.”
In addition to supporting a noble cause the participants will be able to bid at the charity auction and can win exclusive gifts and services. Venue: Kempinski Hotel Corvinus Budapest.
