The tests focus on virus detection rates and scanning speed, as well as at how each product fares when scanning a set files that are known to be clean. In order to win the VB100 award, the product tested must detect all in the wild (ITW) viruses during both on-demand and on-access scanning, but must not generate any false positives when scanning a set of clean files. VirusBuster Professional successfully met these high expectations.
