WING Hires A-List

WING Hires A-List
"Wing real estate development company (formerly known as Wallis Ingatlan) has announced it has hired world-renowned London- based architects Foster & Partners to design its latest project.

The multi-functional building complex located in south Budapest, near the bridge-head of Lágymányosi-híd on the Pest side of the Danube (in District IX), will include apartments, offices, restaurants and a luxury hotel.Construction is slated to begin in 2009, and the project is scheduled to open in 2016.

The area of the project is approximately 240,000sqm. According to WING, the complex will be planned as an example of “sustainable architecture,” with each phase developed in an “environmentally-conscious” way.

WING contracted Foster & Partners to design both the core concept of the complex and the major buildings.
“We are committed to create a truly unique, 21st century quarter on the shore of the Danube,” WING chairman of the board and CEO Noah M Steinberg said in a statement last week.

Foster & Partners is known for its landmark buildings all over the world, including London’s Swiss Re office building (known as the Gherkin), and the Millenium bridge over the Thames."
