Construction of the first Hungarian House in Sub-Carpathian Ukraine began in Rakhiv on Thursday. The Hungarian government is contributing Ft 80 million to the project to promote the survival of ethnic Hungarians in the Upper Tisza region as well as the Hungarian community in Rakhiv, Magyar Hírlap reports.

Director Gergely Prõhle of the Petõfi Literary Museum stressed that the bus will visit the smallest villages in the next year, including remote Hungarian-inhabited areas of the Carpathian Basin.

A second carriage grave dating back to the Roman era has been found in the area of Budapest. The discovery was presented to the media at Aquincum Museum on Thursday. Only one of its type has been found in Budapest so far.

Parliament yesterday declared Good Friday a holiday, starting this year, when the religious commemoration falls on April 14. As Easter Monday is already a national holiday, Easter weekends will be four days long in Hungary.
