The country’s daily natural gas requirements can be continued to be met smoothly using natural gas imported via Ukraine, gas stored in underground gas storage facilities and Hungary’s own natural gas production.

According to pestbuda.hu, the seventh bridge of Budapest was inaugurated 80 years ago, on the 12th of September, 1937. The bridge connecting South Buda and South Pest was originally called Horthy Miklós Bridge, but it was renamed to Petőfi Bridge after WWII. The construction of the bridge was necessary due to the dynamic development of Budapest.

The Hungarian food authority (Nébih) detected banned insecticide fipronil in one batch of Hungarian eggs, the authority said on Monday. The circumstances of the contamination are under investigation, Nébih said. The batch in question has been withdrawn from circulation, it said.

From the organisers: One afternoon in the summer of 2002, I was drinking wine with one of my musician friends in a garden in Veszprém. He told me that he had seen Pavarotti in Austria, performing in a cathedral which had room for about a thousand people.
He was surprised, that the Maestro gave a concert in such a small place.
