The Budapest assembly on Wednesday approved the final proposal on locations selected under the Hungarian capital’s bid to host the 2024 Olympics. Budapest’s mayor, István Tarlós, has failed to discuss proposals concerning renovating the third metro line or handling the capital’s current smog problem, a Socialist representative said. According to the paper, Hungary would have to rake out as much as HUF 4-5000 billion if it wins the right to organise the 2024 Summer Olympics, in stark contrast to the government’s HUF 774 billion cost estimate.
