Malév, one of the leading airlines of Central-East Europe, has built up enormous experience connecting the cities of West and East Europe.
Flying out of its Budapest hub, the Hungarian national carrier operates scheduled services to 56 destinations in 35 countries and it has its own offices or general sales agents in all 35 countries.
Its scheduled long-haul flights link New York, Toronto and Bangkok with Budapest. The Beijing service has been run jointly with Hainan Airlines since August 2004; aircraft of the Chinese airline cover this route.
Today, Malév boasts one of the youngest Boeing fleets in Europe. The core of the fleet comprising 29 aircraft in total is made up of 18 Next-Generation Boeing 737s. In addition, Malév operates two Boeing B767-200ERs, five Fokker 70s and four CRJ–200 planes.
These aircraft execute an average 70 take-offs and landings each day. In 2006 Malév carried more than 3 million customers on its scheduled services.
