Peru Meets Turkey: Unique Gastro & Music Night
Are you ready for a unique night with wonderful Peruvian and Turkish food accompanied by virtuoso guitar concerts?

At this special event we are preparing a menu for you that lets you dive into the authentic cuisine of the two countries. Each course will contain a Peruvian and a Turkish dish that are somehow similar to each other so we can bring these different gastronomic worlds closer to each other.

The special guests will be Arif Erdem Ocak from Turkey and his friend, Alex Torres from Peru. With their wonderful concerts we will have the chance to immerse in the traditional melodies of their home countries.

* Ceviche (Peru) vs levrek marin (Turkey) - marinated raw fish as cold apettizers
* Papa rellena (Peru) vs kumpir (Turkey) - stuffed potato as hot appetizers
* Ají de gallina (Peru) vs çerkez tavuğu (Turkey - chicken breast with nuts as main dishes
* Picarones (Peru) vs tulumba tatlısı (Turkey) - deep-fried dough served with sugar syrup as desserts

About the musicians:
Alex Torres is a Peruvian guitarist. Recognized for having a very energetic style of playing, as well as a clear Flamenco influence, mixed up with Latin American and Peruvian roots. He’s also son of famed Peruvian guitarist, Pepe Torres.

Alex has been living in Budapest since 2014. Besides being a solo artist, he is the lead guitarist of the bands: Kallay- Saunders, The Middletonz, Los Orangutanes and Holddalanap.

Arif Erdem Ocak is a Turkish percussion guitarist / songwriter who connects centuries-old Turkish melodies with modern percussion-style guitar playing.

With his storytelling and melodic guitar tunes that lean into folk, he intimately unfolds personal narratives and universal topics such as (after) life, spirituality, virtue and our common humanity.

Arif creates heartfelt hypnotic songs that get under your skin and takes the audience a journey of reflection, silence and mindfullness.

Participation fee: 14.500 HUF (containing a menu of 8 dishes, a welcome drink and the concerts)

Place: Borganika
Address: 1072 Budapest, Akácfa u. 42-48.
