What we only dreamt of a few decades ago seems to be coming true: In addition to exploring Budapest on foot or by public transport, now you have the option to tour Budapest by bike, and scooters are becoming increasingly popular, as well.
The MOL Bubi public bike system, largely re-newed nearly a year ago, will be expanded, as the Budapest Transport Centre (BKK) will procure new bicycles and establish new col-lection stations, mayor Gergely Karácsony announced at a press conference on Monday.
Police estimated that more than 10,000 people took part in the “I Bike Budapest” bicycle procession on Saturday, said the event’s organizers in a statement.
Bicycles can be provided by employers to be used by their employees as tax-free fringe benefit from January 1, Napi reports.
