The Hungarian state, as a financial and strategic investor, will be the one to decide on the development of Budapest’s Liszt Ferenc International Airport, the national economy minister said.
Hungary’s largest green-field investments are connected to China that has become the largest foreign investor in the country, a state secretary of the foreign ministry said in Gödöllő, near Budapest.
Prime Minister Viktor Orbán has met the CEO of Vinci Concessions, the company which co-acquired the Budapest Liszt Ferenc International Airport with the government earlier this month.
The number of Hungarian companies receiving venture and private equity financing fell by 38% in 2023 compared to 2022, as the total value of investments dropped by 58%, according to a report prepared by the Hungarian Venture Capital and Private Equity Association in collaboration with Ernst & Young.
