Watch: Dancing Minister Returns to Spotlight in Budapest with Surprise Live Stage Moment
Hungary’s incoming health minister Zsolt Hegedűs once again drew widespread attention after repeating his now-viral victory dance during a large celebration on Budapest’s Kossuth Square on Saturday, this time joined by British singer Jalja performing live beside him.

The moment took place following the inaugural session of Hungary’s new parliament, as supporters of Péter Magyar and the incoming Tisza government gathered in front of the Parliament building for what many described as a “regime-change celebration”.

Jalja performed a live version of The Hanging Tree remix — the same track that accompanied Hegedűs’ viral election-night dance following the Tisza Party’s landslide victory in April, an event previously reported internationally, including by The Telegraph and the Economic Times.

As the performance began, the atmosphere in the square quickly intensified, with crowds turning toward the stage and cheering as the incoming health minister started his familiar dance.

Videos circulating online show Hegedűs dancing energetically on the steps of Parliament, while Péter Magyar and several members of the Tisza parliamentary group joined the celebrations. At one point, Hegedűs approached Jalja during the performance, danced beside her, hugged her after the song, and posed for a selfie that was widely shared on social media.

Earlier in the day, journalists had asked the politician whether he had prepared for another public dance appearance. Hegedűs responded that his previous performance had been entirely spontaneous, adding that such moments “either come naturally or not at all.”

His first dance, performed on election night, quickly went viral and circulated widely online, turning him into an unexpected internet sensation. The latest appearance has once again generated strong reactions on social media, with many sharing clips of the performance and the large crowd gathered outside Parliament.
