Estonian Festival in Budapest Now on Until 4 October
After a three-year hiatus, an Estonian cultural festival will be held at Budapest's Toldi Cinema presenting Estonian culture and art, organiser Kreet Paljas told MTI.

The event is organised in cooperation with the Estonian embassy, the organiser said, noting that the Estonian Cultural Institute in Budapest was closed down in February 2024.

The festival programme will feature five Estonian films made in the past three years, as well as book launches and panel discussions.

"Estonia is a small country of 1.3 million people. Not many films are made, fewer than ten are presented annually. A common feature of these films is that their makers seek to address local society", Paljas said, and mentioned Frank in the festival programme, directed by Tonis Pill last year, with Hungarian Peter Kollanyi as its cameraman.
