The festival, co-organised by the Slovenian Film Centre, BudapestFilm Ltd and the Slovenian Embassy, will open on Oct 8 with Marko Nabersnik's Whites Wash at Ninety.

Based on Bronja Zakelj's autobiographical novel, the film follows a young girl's coming-of-age in Ljubljana, exploring themes of loss, family conflict and the changing society of the 1980s. It attracted over 100,000 viewers in Slovenia and won four Golden Reel awards, while Lea Cok and Anica Dobra received the Golden Mimosa for Best Actress at the Herceg Novi Film Festival.

On Oct 9, the festival will screen Miha Hocevar’s Hiding Out, a Slovenian-Icelandic-Serbian co-production. This playful dramedy follows Guti and Sig, who wake up one morning on a riverbank near Ljubljana: bruised, hungover and handcuffed together.

Sig, a foreigner suffering from memory loss, and Guti embark on a journey to uncover his true identity. Lead actor Olafur Darri Olafsson won the Vesna Award for Best Actor at the Portoroz Film Festival for his role.

The festival will close with Ziga Virc's Land Grab, a provocative film in which the director explores how parents are willing to fight not only for their children's future but also to assert their own interests and convictions.

When an innocent game on a school playground sparks a political debate at home, the evening quickly escalates into a series of absurd conflicts, unexpected clashes and increasingly harsh confrontations.
