Concert: Ken-Ichiro Kobayashi & Liszt Academy Symphony Orchestra

Kobayashi, winner of the 1974 Hungarian TV's 1st International Conducting Competition, became a household name & audience favourite after conducting a Beethoven Symphony in Budapest at Christmas the same year.

10 May - Liszt Academy Budapest

Opera: Verdi's Simon Boccanegra

The piece includes the themes of the lost child, generational conflict, friendship and betrayal. In keeping with tradition from Rossini to Puccini, the composer showed passions and conflicts in a political environment.
