The European Court of Justice today dismissed a case launched by Hungary and Slovakia challenging the legality of the EU’s migrant resettlement scheme. “The court dismisses the actions brought by Slovakia and Hungary against the provisional mechanism for the mandatory relocation of asylum seekers,” the Luxembourg-based court said in a statement.

The Democratic Trade Union of Teachers (PDSZ) has called on the government to restore the upper age limit for compulsory schooling to 18 years. Speaking in front of the Ministry of Human Resources on the occasion of Teachers’ Day, the union’s chief, László Mendrey, said membership of the National Teachers’ Chamber should be made voluntary rather than mandatory.
