Hungary is planning to ban brand logos from cigarette packaging from next May, in favour of a uniform look for all brands, featuring only text, Prime Minister’s Office state secretary Balázs Sonkodi told news website Index. This exceeds the requirements of the EU’s Tobacco Product Directive, which stipulates that 65% of the two largest faces of cigarette packages must be covered by warnings.

After two years of operation, luxury clothing shop Il Bacio di Stile will close down on July 31, its owner company Dolcer has announced. The shop on Andrássy út in Budapest’s Sixth District was loss-making due to high costs and lower spending by tourists, Dolcer added. Dolcer’s owner, pornography mogul György Gattyán, has invested Ft 18 billion in the project over the past seven years.

Agents seized documents and data carriers as they searched the building from the cellar to the attic. The tax authority confirmed the raid but would not say more in the interest of the investigation.
