'Danube Carnival' In Budapest, Now On Until 18 June

Budapest hosts one of the most colourful series of cultural events of the year every June. Annually the Danube Carnival presents a wide range of 'phenomenal programs' at several spots around the city - where guests can enjoy folk, symphonic and world music, traditional and contemporary dance, and colourful folklore performances by the various participating countries.

Israel and Jewish culture will be in focus at this year’s CAFe Budapest Contemporary Arts Festival held between October 6 and 22, the chief organiser said. Programmes featuring Israeli art will include acts by the Israel Ballet, the Avishai Cohen Trio and Avi Avital and Omer Avital, Csaba Káel said.

The annual Belvárosi Festival is being held between 26 – 28 May, for the 11th time in 2017, all around downtown districts Belváros - Lipótváros. Popular downtown venue Gozsdu Courtyard (Gozsdu Udvar) is holding a street music festival between until 20 June. Events take place on Tuesdays and Thursdays, and lesser known Hungarian musicians are invited to compete for a prize of 500,000 forints (EUR 1,625), which will be awarded based on ‘likes’ by the audience.

Stéphane Acquaviva (married, two children) was born in Paris where he spent the first part of his life. He has two Master’s degrees from La Sorbonne: in History and in French as Foreign Language. He was an History teacher in High School in Paris during a couple of years but decided to try another life in Hungary.
